Both times I've waited at least 30 minutes for the pre heat and it has struggled to even get up to 300 degrees. I'm using pit boss brand hickory pellets and have the hopper full.Yes I was mixing the reviews and should have finished my comments. I shopped Pit Boss products for a few years and wasn't impressed by any of the models. The Danson customer service to my SiL was pathetic. The unit should have been replaced.
