A normal infected wound just reduces your healing factor. Even if you ignore it completely, it will eventually go away assuming you didn't also get the zombie infection. For the zombie infection, since bites are 100% infection rate, if you were bitten that is your only guaranteed indicator that you have the zombie infection.…
