As others said, the location would be where your horse is showing at the crossroads. Having said that, I have not much luck on that location after so many load/save after 72 hours to allow respawn at multiple recommend times. But the spot which really helped me find panther is the Lakay near Lagras. The crossroads top of Y in Lakay.Stay in the bayou. It has the most panther spawns so by going to thieves landing you just waste time. Go here and look under animals and click on Panther. Then mark all the spots in the bayou on your in-game map. The keep riding them down back and forth. Do it for ummm 2 hours. You have to be persistent. 1.
