Bowfa is comparable to tbow in the sense that bofa < tbow. They both have the same attack range, although bowfa hits faster (4t vs 5t), tbow is better against all the important monsters (jads, zuk, mages). If you're learning you want all these monsters to go down as quickly as possible. Owning crystal + masori is a bit strange for a main especially without even the bowfa, but if you were an iron you wouldn't suggest "getting rid" of masori. If Iron then I'd suggesting grinding until bowfa. If main then sell the masori and use it to buy bowfa, then save all the way up for tbow and after that pick up the masori again.I took bowfa, crystal body, slayer helmet and AGS to anti pk. After being smites for my slayer helm twice and having to kill 3300 cave horrors to replace them, I just take full dhide, bowfa, slay helm and AGS. Bowfa is op even without any crystal armour
The difference between bowfa and bowfa+armor is about twice as big as the difference between msb and bowfa without armor. Crystal bow + armor does similar dps to bowfa without armor on mid defense targets and even 10+% higher dps on a high defense target like gwd bosses. If you have a bowfa but no armor, you don't have a bowfa.Crystal armor itself is not a big upgrade over black dhide without the bowfa, outside of the ranged defense. I would bank it for now so you aren't burning charges and pull it back out when you are able to afford the bowfa. It's a marginal range accuracy bonus over blessed d'hide. Use it where you'd use that.
